QSR and Cakewalk

Hi,
I'm having trouble getting Cakewalk to play back different tracks with different instruments at the same time. I have no problems assigning different instruments to different tracks, but the QSR will only play one instrument at a time. You someone please give me as detailed of info as possible. I'm still new at this electronic music stuff. I promise I won't be insulted if you give me directions that state the obvious and are very spelled out.
