yamaha QY midi filer problems

Hi, I have recently bought a QY70 and downloaded the QY Midi Filer. I am trying to perform a bulk dump from the QY70 to my PC to free up memory but am having problems. I am connecting the two using a Turtle Beach USB Midi 1x1 cable/device and am getting Midi Signals through to my PC as I have checked using Midi ox. The problem is that when I get to the stage where the data begins to be transferred an error message comes up saying "list cannot be currently recieved". Sometimes this is followed a short time later by another error message saying, "QY70 may not be properly connected, bulk mode error" however I do not get this second message every time I attempt this.
Any ideas as to how I overcome this?
