    You describe a number of possibilities. The first is that at least you have sound moving between the key board and the PC. Good.

    This leads me to believe you could have a memory and processor problem for what you are asking you PC to do with the MIDI.

    The second, I use Cubasis. A reasonably good program for mixing. Your sound card will have a degree of reflection on your output howver you should still be able to hear the tracks you produce. Conscider the latter two problems.
