I have Roland JX-305, I believe it it a lot familiar to MC-505. I also need info on how to Backup&Restore whole user memory via SysEx. I know it is possible to do this using Smart Media Cards, but these are so hard to find and even if you find, they are so overpriced comparing that you pay $50 for 4MB. Or $2 for 4 Floppy's,that are still best Media for MIDI.

I am using Roland JX-305 with Yamaha QY300 Sequencer. And I would like to use this Sequencer just for User Memory Backup of JX-305.

: Hi,

: I have a problem with my MC-505 OS (1.04).
: It seems to be losing memory. I just have 12K left (which means I hardly can save any new patterns, while just a fraction of my user patterns is used). I'd like to do a data dump (sysex send and receive) to my PC. I tried every freeware program around and I seem to be able to dump the data to my PC, but I can't send it back to my mc-505. The error messages are: MIDI buffer full and checksum error. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Thanx!
