SBLive Midi WinXP and the rest

Hi Folks,
I have the following problem with SBLive and Win XP:
I load a big piano soundfont (23MB) and play (no matter how) several midi notes simultaneously. It sounds like the samples were clipped but it's definitely not a problem of volume or sample level (I have tried this). In Win98 I had this problem too but I somehow solved it by installing the latest SBLive and VIA4in1 drivers. This does not work now for XP !
Someone out there with a solution (other than uninstalling XP of course) ?
