Hello all!
I am brand new to this computer/keyboard integration stuff, and I would like some advice on what my options are regarding the integration of these.

First of all, I will let you know what I have. I currently have an iMac 600 MHz, CDRW, etc... the basic iMac stuff. But I have recently ordered a Korg SP500, and I would like to be able to integrate my computer with that ... I'm planning to get some good Harmon kardon speakers for my computer, so it would be very nice to run my keyboard (which has no external speakers) through my Mac. Beyond this, I don't really know what to do. The guy at the Mac store here in Calgary told me that I would have to upgrade my OS to X.2 (I currently have 9.1). Others who are more into the music side of things have told me that there have been many problems with OS X and midi-compatibility. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm very green here, so please excuse my ignorance. :)

Beyond all of that, what I would really like to do with my keyboard is to be able to sequence through my computer, maybe do a little bit of recording, and at some point (when I have $1200 to throw away again) I'd love to be able to get Finale or Cakewalk to do some music writing.

I'd appreciate any and all of your comments, because I really desire a system that I am going to enjoy, and not just have to fight with.

Thanks a ton!
