:
: How do I get EXACTLY the same sound assigned to a 'part' in Performance mode as I have in Voice mode? I am trying to play two patches at once from an S80 - one from a controller, and one from the S80 itself- and I when I choose a voice from the voice mode, it just isn't the same sound. Do I have to manually add the effects and parameters to match the 'voice' patch, or is there a better way to do this,
: thanks,

Hi,

What sequencing software you running? I have a Yamaha S03 with XGWorks and for the life of me I wasn't hearing vis speakers vs headphones and in XGWorks I had to change the port (column right after midi channel on the left) from SB Live Synth A: to SB Live MIDI UART and then the voices sounded as I expected them to vs normal midi sounds. You can give that a shot. I was also told by Yamaha support that the sequencer doesn't recognize split keys as it is called performance mode which sounds like what you are trying to do. I will be playing around with this over the next few weeks hopefully and will see what happens in XGWorks with a split keyboard. I am just scratching the surface on this. Email me if you want to chat offlinel.

Mike
