Chris, I use both platforms daily, and without question the Macintosh is superior. If you want a "smooth start" you will never be sorry you purchased a Mac. PC's on the other hand are lots of trouble with port, IRQ and other conflicts. you really do have to be a rocket scientist to make a PC work. Macs? Truly "plug and play" (as opposed to the PC, which is "plug and pray"). IMHO.
