Before you take it to the shop, try to open the case and wiggle the cable that connects the display to the main board. It can be a bad connection or corroded connector, broken cable, etc. If not, you may need a new display. It's not too expensive or complicated to install, so if you're handy with basic tools you can save a bundle by doing it yourself. Search this forum for posts on how to replace the display, there are lots of them.

: Hello. I have a qs since they first came out, and the display has packed up (For a while now). The display lights up,and there are characters displayed, but this is all gobble -D-gook and in random. any suggestions? Please?
