Don't ruin your Piano card, it will not work as a bank storage.
Sell it and buy a cheap SRAM card instead.
I would recommend saving the user bank to your computer. You can use pretty much any MIDI sequencer or
editor / librarian program to do that. If you don't have any such software, get a freeware program from the web.
Check the software page here first.

: Hi all-

: I have an Alesis QS7 which has served me well over the years. Its getting up there though and needs to go to the shop for some repairs. The problem is that the shop needs to do a hard reset on the system. This would in all likelihood wipe my user bank which I have been tinkering with for years- this is not an option!

: Therefore, I looked in the manual and it appears that I can store the user bank to an expansion card. Unfortunately, I'm pretty broke at the moment, and can't afford a pcmcia ram card. However, I do have a piano q card (which I think is read-only...). From the instructions in the manual it seems that I can switch off the write protection and copy the user bank to the card. Will this work?

: Thanks in advance for your help!

: Matt M
