Press the PROGRAM and 00 buttons simultaneously.
The software version will show up on the screen for a second.

If you need version 2, call Alesis at 1-401-658-5760 to find out if they still have the chips (probably not).
Your other option for upgrade is to sell the old QS6 and buy a newer version (ebay).

Only a certain type of Flash Card will work with the QS, and they sell for around $60 or so.
You can get them at midi-store.com search for "qcard".

: Hi... have some questions here not really covered elsewhere here...
: I bought my QS6 pretty much right when it came out, if I remember correctly...
: First, I understand (I THINK) I need version 2 of the QS6 built-in "software" to really be able to bring in samples from a FLASHCard. Is this right?
: Second, does Alesis STILL offer this upgrade (EPROM chip)?
: Third, how do I, in fact, find out what version software is running in my QS6?
: And last, do I really need to stick ONLY to the particular FlashRam cards identified in the OLD posting here? I imagine those would be quite hard to come by. (And don't feel like paying a lot of money for them...)
: Thanks everyone for all your help.
