Delay when playing Midi

Hi. I am using my keyboard to trigger my Soundblaster Audigy Platinum for recording Midi. I have a problem in that when I play my keyboard (Yamaha DX7)the sound is delayed by about 1/2 a second which is really irritating!! I am running Cakewalk Pro 9.
Anyone have any ideas how I can sort out the problem??
