The DGX505 does not have midi in/out, it just has a USB. I connected it to the USB on the back of my computer and was able to record a piano part into Cakewalk on track one but I can't seem to figure out how to record anything on track 2. Nowhere on the DGX505 is there a way to assign a midi channel, I can only put it in PC1 mode which sets it up to external clock/local off. Anyone have a clue? I'm new to using USB, just getting back to making music after several years and all I ever was familiar with was MIDI. When I bought the DGX505 I ass-umed it had midi in/out/thru!
I've emailed yamaha support twice now and have heard nothing. Thanks for any help anyone has out there.
