Someone else may be able to put me right here, but I don't think there's anything in the MIDI specification that allows for looping -- it's just a sequence of discrete events. But most decent sequencing software can automate looping for you, and there are some sequencers that are designedly loop-based. It might help if you told us a bit about what software you're using.
