U dont need a keyboard for playback. Cakewalk is good. But u might need to tell the different tracks on the Soundcards synth where to find the instruments or the patches. IE learning the sequencer where your synth is (on the soundcard). Should be a piece of cake. If it isnt there is a chanche that your soundcard is not configured correctly or that u need to download the latest driver for it
