: help me someone, i am making a webpage and i want to put music on it. i have no understanding of what a midi is or how to "get this" do i have to download something? if so, what and how do i do this? thank you, kim

MIDI is a special protocol that allows music performance data (not the actual sound) to be transmitted and recorded.
MIDI files use your existing hardware (soundcard, synthesizer, etc.) to create sounds.
If you want to listen to these files, you need at least a decent soundcard and a MIDI player.
If you also want to edit or write your own MIDI files, you'll also need a sequencer application.
Posting MIDI files to a website requires some basic knowledge in HTML (web programming language) and permission from the author(s) of the files
you would like to post (unless you write your own music).
