Usage of the GETMIX package, meant for quick saving and loading of a COMPLETE Quadrasynth mix (For Cakewalk users only): Preparation QuadraSynth Plus ---------------- - Add the lines #0 ... #4 of QS_PLUS.DRM (the dump request macros') to the [Dump Request Macro's] section of WINCAKE.INI QuadraSynth ----------- - Add the lines #0 ... #4 of GETMIX.DRM (the dump request macros') to the [Dump Request Macro's] section of WINCAKE.INI *** Important *** The macro will only work correctly if the DRM's are on top of the list; that's why I put the # symbol in front of them; so please don't remove that symbol. Cakewalk will sort the DRM list for you, so you don't have to bother where to put the lines in the instrument definition file - Put the macro file GETMIX.REC in your Windows directory Usage - Start Window's macrorecorder and load the file GETMIX.REC - Switch to Cakewalk's SYSX window and make sure the bank you want to store the SYSEX bytes in is empty - Press Ctrl+Enter; the macro starts (of course you may reassign the macro key to something more suitable for you) - When the macro has finished, give the bank a name and, optionally, the 'Auto' checkmark NOTE: The macro will playback at the speed I recorded it. It will probably play correctly on most systems, but if you have a very slow system, or your MIDI connection is slow, some bytes might get lost. Try recording the macro yourself in this case. Now you're sure the Cakewalk sequence will load the correct song-setup everytime you open it. Enjoy! Paul Swennenhuis Consultant by nature
