Try dropping the communication speed on your Alesis (?) serial port driver to 38.4 (to match QS8 speed). Mine was defaulting to some high value (512, I think) and I had a similar problem problem with 3'rd party editors (QSeditor) until I dropped it down to 38.4, although Freeloader always worked so this may not help you. Good luck.


: All I want to do is back up my user bank (QS 6.1), shit what a pain!!! Freeloader will recieve some bytes, always a different size file, and never the 79479 size which is supposed to be correct. Cakewalk 9 freezes when attempting to accept a dump from the synth. And I can't get Soundbride to do anything!!!
: After I dump to Freeloader, Soundbride doesn't recognize the syx file. It does recognize the alesis userbank syx file downloaded from here.
: I am using the serial connection to a PC. Can ANYONE HELP? Why is this such a pain!!! I've got these custom user programs I can't afford to lose and need to back them up.....
