: Hello All:

: I have a QS8 that I use to play club dates. Since the QS is an electronic device in many ways similar to a computer, it seems like it would be a good idea to replace my ordinary power strip with some kind of surge protector -- as I do with my home computer.

: So, my questions are:

: Do you recommnend for or against using a surge protector?

A surge protector is ALWAYS a good idea. It will have absolutely no effect on the operation of your keyboard (except when you get a strike, in which case it will be a good effect - saving your baby). As far as specs go, you get what you pay for. Generally, the more you spend the faster and more voltage you can absorb.

: If no, why not? Is there a downside to using such a device with the keyboard

: If yes, what specifications (minimum # of Joules) and / or standards (UL / ISO / etc.) should I be looking for in the product literature?

: Thanks!

: Mark
