: I have an original QS8 and I can hear
: the same thing, so it is definitely the
: patch rather than your instrument. It seems
: to occur on A4 up rather than just on that small
: range.
: : Just bought a new QS7.1 to use in an upcoming production of Fiddler On The Roof. This show makes heavy use of an accordion in its scoring.
: : In trying out my keyboard's accordion programs and mixes, I've discovered the the "accordion" (4:021) and "WrmAcrdion" (2:028) programs emit a percussive popping sound when playing the notes Bb above middle C through the Eb above that. Other notes seem not to have this "feature".
: : Alesis tech support said that point is a sample split point and the sampled instrument must have made those sounds when sampled.
: : I'm a bit sceptical of that, and have found the percussive sound often doesn't appear if I put the key down extremely hard.
: : 1. Has anyone else seen this?
: : 2. Can I edit it out of those notes?
: : Thanks in advance ..

Walt, you may be able to turn off one of the 4 sounds the qs uses to make that voice, maybe that sound is being turned on by the keyboards velocity switching protocol. See manual. -Michael
