Hi Marius, the answer to the first question is you should probably order the cable from Alesis. I looked for a long
time for the cable from computer stores and even the internet but didn't find it. I also found a problem with my
setup; now and then while playing, the program selections or mix selections change without you touching anything.
This crazy behavior comes from data being sent from the laptop to the keyboard and vice-versa. Signals somehow get
sent that changes the program/mix settings. Not fun, especially when you are playing for somebody. I just pull out
the serial cable from the keyboard when it starts happening. A warning.
I don't know the answer to your second question. A guess would be that you have to use the midi-thru connection?
