: : What I am trying to do is change the effect level or bus of a single channel in Mix Mode without affecting
: : the setting for the rest of the Mix.

: If you use a sequencer, you can send sysex messages to control the effect level and bus settings on any channel.
: It's a bit more complicated than an assignable CC, but it's better than nothing.
: For example :
: F0 00 00 0E 0E 10 22 00 00 00 F7 - (ch1 - level 0)
: F0 00 00 0E 0E 10 22 00 00 0A F7 - (ch1 - level 10)
: F0 00 00 0E 0E 10 22 00 00 63 F7 - (ch1 - level 99)
: etc.

: If your sequencer has sysex edit functions (like Cakewalk Pro for example) you can copy and store these strings. and
: call for them in the sequence whenever you need them. Let me know if this is useful for you, and I'll give more details.

Thanks for your response,Les.I was afraid sysex would be the answer.
Unfortunately,I have yet to get my computer very involved. Have
Cakewalk 6.0,but can't use it yet. So,I revert to trusty old standby
MMT8.I know,arcaic,but I know it well,and it's alot easier to travel
with.Too much sysex eats the memory up.I'll have to work around for
now.Thanks again for your help!
