I had a similar problem with the QS8 at school. So far it hasn't been a problem with my 6.1. The problem was very periodic and seemed to affect some student more than others. The problem seemed to disappear when I upgraded Cakewalk to version 8.03, but this was only a few days prior to the close of the year so it was not tested throughly.
