The QS synths can playback sequences, but you need to create them elsewhere. The best way is to use a PC (or Mac) based sequencing program such as CakeWalk or Cubase. Your QS8 has a serial port connection and it probably came with a CDROM. On that CD are serial port drivers for your PC (you can also download them from Alesis) along with a bunch of (older) demo-version programs including Cubasis - a sequencer. Go ahead and mess around with it but you will shortly find that you will want to go buy a full featured package. You will need to go to a music store and buy a serial cable to connect your PC to the QS.

This will get you set in the right direction. There are numerous posts on this site that describe the specific internal settings you will need to set to get everything else to work properly for sequencing. I suggest you take a few minutes to SEARCH for them and read (and print) them. The information you find will save you hours (or days) as you get going.

Good luck
Dave
