If you do it the way it's done in the QS and without additional tools, you'll spend a lot of time programming ,that's for sure.
The internal drum-loops are mostly looped samples, plus some weird special effects, some using the tracking generator.
In my opinion, programming this way is more or less a waste of time.
I'm not a techno freak myself, but I think you should get a sample editor (look out for CoolEdit) and start working on samples.
If you have made a drum-loop as a sample, you can burn it to a flash ram card then, but the actual work you'll do on your PC.
If you want to learn something about QS programming, you will find some very clever examples in those drum loops.
