You should lower various frequency settings (freq, env mod, env level, vel mod...) on each string voice in the patch. I also suggest using a very small amount of random pitch LFO on each voice to make it sound more realistic.

: This post is along the lines of several others that have come up over the last couple of weeks dealing with certain instruments that don't sound good when mixed with others during sequencing. I have a QS6.1 and am working on a sequence that needs "soft" strings. All the preset (and user bank) strings are a little too bright for what I need. Does anyone know if the orchastral Q-Card has a good selection of "softer" strings or perhaps there might be a good program setting for my user bank, or better yet if I want to try some tweeking myself which settings should I be looking at to soften up the strings?

: Thanks in advance.
