The LCD problem must be a common problem. Three months after I purchased my QS7, the LCD did the same thing -- actually only half of it displayed. While I was at the music store I was talking to someone else who had some other Alesis product (I forget what it was, but it wasn't QSx), and he had the same problem.
I sent mine back, and they fixed it at no charge (still under warrantee).
Other than that, I have been very pleased with my almost 10 month old synth. I only wish I would have bought the QS8. :)
