: I'm trying to decide on what model of the Quadra Synth
: series to purchase. I like that they have updated the
: 6.1 but prefer the weighted keys of the QS 8. I want to
: create musical scores to go along with multimedia
: presentations and need to purchase something that will
: do the job. Can someone give me some advice. Thanks.

I just got my QS8 to add to a Roland JV-50 syth.
I decided to get the QS8 mainly for the weighted
keys because the JV-50 (which should be similar to
a QS6.1 in feel) just didn't have the real piano
feel I like when composing.

It really depends. If you're going to let the
sequencer do the playing and don't need to improve
your piano skills, the QS6.1 is fine. But for
me, the realistic feel of a piano and the
full 88-key range was a big part of the sale.

Also, ask around your area to see if Alesis is
cutting the retaliers any special deals. I just
got mine for $1299.00 because Alesis gave the
retailer a break on every second one he ordered!
He sold them (6 of them) in a couple of days.
