I had the same problem also ,it turned out that my second serial port was disabled
and the first was being used by the modem
You will have to go into your computers bios and look in it to see if that is the
problem if you don`t know how to do that get your local computer guru to help you.

: I installed the serial driver and put the baud rate to 38.4k and it does not detect my qs6.1 . I don't want to purchase a midi interface...help me!
