I would suggest trying a different pedal first. The music store where you got your synth should have one you can use to test it. No offense to Alesis, but the pedals that come with the QS series are junk. I recommend throwing it away and getting a Roland DP-6. If that doesn't work, turn off your QS-6, turn down the mod wheel, then power up while holding down the "0" and "3" keys.
