You should be able to send a .syx file to your QS8 using freeloader. Just select the .syx file and then click on the "play" button.
There are a couple of programs that will simplify editing using a PC. Check under the software section of this website for links to sites with the programs (QControl, QS Soundeditor 32 and QE plus).
