: Also, very important. -
: You should(actually you must)start using Editor/Librarian
: software in order to really harness the power of
: your synth.....
: There's only one that is 100% bug free - and only because
: I spent 1 year testing it........l there are some better ones for Alesis, if you are
: interested - post your e-mail address and I'll give you
: the names.

Dmitry:

Your suggestion and offer are most appreciated. Yes, I never even installed the free Unisyn demo that came with the Alesis, and here's why: This is going to sound banal, but the main reason I edit via the front panel is: the QS8 is my gigging instrument, and it lives in the basement between gigs. The computer, on the other hand, is on the second floor in a (very) small room. As a result, I wouldn't normally have the two items together.

BUT! We DO have another computer, an old '486 (running Windows 3.11) that I could drag to the basement. This may be the best reason to do it.

SO: Thanks for your offer. I would welcome the benefit of your experience in choosing an editor/ librarian. If you can mention the system requirements for the programs, that would be a great help to decide which machine to install on (and if I should start lifting weights to haul the keyboard around more easily).

Also, thanks for the recommended reading. I've been looking for a good basic text on programming.
