Hi fellow QS-addicts,

I just have to get this out of my system:

Since last night, I seriously fell in love with my QS (6 that is). I've
bought mine 1.5 years ago and generally like it: nice drum samples, very
nice samples in the 'wave' department (digital and inharmonic). Only
the filter has it's shortcomings: not as sharp as I would have wanted it.
But the Waldorf Pulse helps a lot with this.
What really makes the QS line special is the awesome effects in the box.
It took me a long time to understand them, but last night I finally
succeeded in making a yummy yummy ambient sound that shot shivers
down my spine. I held a chord for 5 minutes and started drooling!
The basic sound was very simple: just a arbitrary sample with gentle
amp attack and release and the filter real low (20-25) the sound output
off and effects level full. Now the fun part: hall reverb with damped
high frequencies and long release (77) the important part was to take
a rich chorus ad ping-pong delay as input for the reverb. Another
important setting is the sound level of the program. A high level
overloads the long reverb tail. With some samples it had to be as low
as 10-15.
But then, if you like ambient erie string sounds...

Happy playing,

Frank
