I cannot get the computer (PC) to recognize the QS8. I have installed the driver, (I have two serial port connection possibilities on the back of the CPU). I have tried both. Nothing else is hooked up to either of these ports. I have gone into the control panel/Midi devices/Properties/and Settings. Looks like only COM1 is the only live port. I don't know how to give life to the Com2. And what difference would it make anyway. If Com1 isn't being used for anything else, why won't it recognize Alesis. On the port settings, I do have the computer and QS8 set to 38.4 speed. I have been recommended to install a Boca serial card for a com3 port and it may come to that. I have the QS8 settings all correct according to the instructions.
