I had the same problem...I called the tech support and they fixed the problem..here's what to do.
1)Go to Control Panel, Multimedia, Advanced, select Alesis Serial Driver Out
2)Go to the advanced section in that
3)Change the Baud rate of the port from 115 or whatever it is set to to 38.4
That should do it...hope this helps...
