: I have a laptop (IPC Open Note) that use to have a functional
: soundcard souncard (ess es 1688) but I have had software
: conflicts ever since I reinstalled Windows.
    : Question:
: 1) do I need a functional soundcard to hook up my QS8 to
    : the computer?
: 2) Can I use my QS8 keyboard to act as a soundcard, I mean
: to listen to online radio stations and open .wav files
: and all the other stuff that a soundcard allow (including
: sending my voice thru internet phone software?

: Sorry if this is a bad question. I don't know that much about computers or keyboards yet.

If you have a MIDI connection in your computer, you can use the QS8 to play MIDI sequences that would otherwise be handled by your computer's sound card. You still need a sound card to provide the interface.

In terms of .wav files, sending voice and the like, the QS8 will not be able to help you at all.
