I don't (yet) have a QS, but in Yamaha stuff and many other LCD displays, the signal gets from the circuit board to the LCD panel through a sort of rubbery conductive strip on each side, and it depends on being tightly sandwiched between the circuit board and the plastic faceplate. If one or two mounting screws are loose, you get half a display.

If opening the box is something you and your warranty would let yourself do, a gentle tightening of LCD mounting screws might do the trick. Did I mention gentle? By the way, be gentle.
