I am having great difficulty getting my computer to
recognize my new QS-7.
I have been working on this problem for a month now!
Having installed the driver and connecting the synth to
the serial port, and configuring the synth I still
can't get the computer to recognize the synth.
I called Alesis and their advise was to create a
virtual comm port. They stated the problem is caused
by comm port conflicts with the synth and my modem.
Does anyone know how to set up a virtual comm port or
know any other way around this seemingly typical
problem? Perhaps I should just break down and by a
midi card for the computer. Any advice on which one
to get?
