Expression Pedal Problem

Everything was great then suddenly I cannot get my expression pedals to trigger the mod wheel parameter anymore (Controller 1). I tried swapping pedals and reassigning to pedal 1 and/or pedal 2 inputs but no luck. I reinitialized several times with pedals zeroed out and/or unplugged as well. Checked global settings, etc. I can get the pedals to work with other parameters (like volume control) but they just won't trigger controller 1 (mod wheel) anymore. Any Suggestions???
