Thanks for your answer, but I don't even think the midi cable is allowing the QS8 to communicate at all with the comp through Cubase. Everytime I press record on Cubase, and I hit some notes on the keyboard, nothing happens on the midi track. There is no signal showing up on the midi track in Cubase. I read something about having to set the synth to local off. How do I do this with the QS8? Also, I have to have Cubase and the QS8 set to channel 1, but I'm not sure how this is done either. It's becoming a bit frustrating at this point, because this is not the first time trying to record with this keyboard...
Also, should I buy a serial port cable so that the keyboard can communicate directly with the computer?
