Something about the HTML or whatever screwed up all
my previous attempts to cut and paste a carefully
written message, so I'm trying again here to
convey the vital pin swapping needed to adapt
a standard LCD to the QS8:

Pin 1 to Pin 1 (no swap!)
Pin 2 to Pin 2 (no swap)
Pin 3 to Pin 4 (DONT CONNECT use trimpot wiper see below)
Pin 4 to Pin 3
Pin 5 to Pin 6
Pin 6 to Pin 5
Pin 7 to Pin 8
Pin 8 to Pin 7
Pin 9 to Pin 10
Pin 10 to Pin 9
Pin 11 to Pin 12
Pin 12 to Pin 11
Pin 13 to Pin 14
Pin 14 to Pin 15.
Use a 10K trimpot between pin 1 and 2, with the
center tap to Pin 3. Connect with wires, as this
has to be under the LED so it doesn't interfere
with insertion into QS8 case and view.
