I'll answer my own question for the good of the masses.
It seems it is FAR easier to just find an old Mac with serial ports and use that to talk to the QS. I messed around with MANY different softwares, connections, etc. all to no avail. I couldn't get Sound Bridge to talk via USB or a serial converter.
I borrowed (stole) an old retired Mac form work, and via the serial connection Sound Bridge saw the QS IMMEDIATELY, and I could upload to the synth.
Sometimes it's easier to stop banging your head against the wall, and just go with the flow...
