What ARE you using for a sound card? Even with a soundblaster , you can get fairly decent audio as long as you use the line in to the card, not the mic in. Make sure you get a decent level in Sound Forge to keep you signal to noise ratio up(you can use your windows internal mixer to set input levels). Plus, using your main outs on your QS should have low noise. So, you should be running your 1/4 in outs from L and R main to one stereo 1/8" jack to connect to your sound card (unless it has RCA inputs, of course) That being said, you CAN markedly improve your audio by spending as little as $159(US) for a semi-pro sound card. In addition, make sure you have Sound Forge set to sample at 16 bit, 44.1Khz stereo. Most new cards are sampling at 96Khz and 24 bit now, but you would need Sound Forge 5 and Logic 4.5 or better to use audio samples at those rates/bit depth.

: What is the best way to get midi into audio and keep the quality? I'm using Logic audio and I want to get my sequence into a wav or mp3. Every time I record it into sound forge (to a wav) it comes out with a really low quality sound. I know the best would be a DAT or something like that but I have limited funds! Is there a "right" way to record midi into audio in Logic? Any advice??? Thanks!
