: Anybody know how to go through a QS8 to cakewalk to do a midi sync? I'm going out of my Boss BR8 midi out into the midi thru of the QS8. I have the QS8 serial out connected to the joystick in on my computer. I'm trying to use the BR8 as a master to control the cakewalk program. I've tried midi, mmc, mtc, 25, 30n, and 30d, and none of them will work. Any suggestions?

Kevin:

I'm using it a little differently than you but maybe this may help some anyway. I have a Korg D12 and am using Cakewalk MIDI to the Alesis and audio from the Alesis to the Korg. But, I'm using Cakewalk to control the Korg recording via MIDI MMC. The options I had to use under OPTIONS, PROJECT were clock SMPTE/MTC, 30 frame non-drop, and then on the MIDI out tab I have checked TRANSMIT MMC and a unique ID for my Korg. I also had to configure the Korg to use MMC, assign it the same number as what I entered in Cakewalk, and have to put it in Record (or Play) mode before I hit play in Cakewalk. That works for me. Good luck. Tom
