You are in mix mode right? If you are getting two tracks to play (bass and strings?), there is no reason why you can't add more. Make sure Cakewalk is selecting the correct midi driver for each channel you add. Try using the multitimbral preset in mix mode - use track 10 for drums and use, say, user 120 for your drum set (page up and down in mix mode to select ch 10 and then bank/program buttons to change patch for that channel) Create a new midi track in Cakewalk and choose channel 10 as your midi source, selecting the appropriate driver (Alesis serial?) and you should be in bidness

: I would like to use my QS8 with Cakewalk 9 to create backing drum, bass and string parts to go along with analog guitar parts recorded to hard disk. I've been able to get 2 tracks (sounds) to play at once, but no more than that. I'm using omni mode on cakewalk, out 01 in kbd mode, general midi on, midi prg sel on, and a-d mode both. Am I doing something wrong here? Also, I've never been able to get a drum track to play from cakewalk. Help!
