I think the only difference is that the QS6.1 doesn't have the digital output, the extra pedal input and the two analogue aux outs of the QS7. Sound-wise, I believe the GM sounds of the 6.1 are even better than the ones in the QS7/8, since the improved GM section was one of the main selling points of the *.1 synths. But I've never actually played a QS6.1, so I can't say anything from my own experience.
