Hi Marcelo,

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it!

I got the 7.1 for $576 brand new at Sam Ash. Most stores on the Internet had it for around $899, so I got it for a steal.

On the Flash card, I've got an opportunity to buy a 16 Meg card for a very good price. I don't know the part # yet. But I would guess that if it is FAD016-P that it would work. Is that correct? Also, what is the difference in a Flash card and a SRAM card? Can they both be used for the same thing?

Once again, thanks!

Michael

: Hi Michael,

: You're right. You can use a 16Mb card for instance, but you will only be able to access the first 8Mb. So it's no use buying a card bigger than 8Mb, if you need 16Mb of space then you'll have to get two 8Mb cards.

: VERY IMPORTANT: the only flash RAM cards that work with QS synths are AMD Type I, Series C or D. Part number for the 8Mb card from Pretec is FAD008-P. Don't buy any other type. And yes, you can write MIDI files to the card and have the QS play it back without the need of a computer or external sequencer. You can also store one bank of programs and one of mixes to the card.

: And btw, congratulations on buying a 7.1.. it's so damn cheap there in the US these days that everyone should have to get one by law :)
