the aux outs do indeed cut out all effects. The alesis volume slider does not send a midi cc#, so it does not affect the aux volume levels BUT, BUT, BUT the volume pedal (ev-5 in ped 1) DOES affect the level of the aux out so long as your programs are set to respond to midi controller #7 (virtually all of the built-in qs program/mixes respond to volume #7 already)
I use some of my hammond b-3 settings thru the aux ports, into a hughes and kettner tube rotosphere for a far better leslie 122/147 sound than what the qs alone can offer with the "lezlie". Although, that being said, the qs overdrive is VERY close to the real tube overdrive in the rotosphere and the motion-sound rotary cabinets. It's just that the qs cannot get the tube harmonics/color that can be only reproduced by real tubes. fyi, the roland vk7, hammond xk2, korg cx3 ALL fall short of getting the real tube sweetness of the b-3. Korg's leslie effect is the better of the 3, rolands leslie is fair, hammond's xk2 leslie is just a frog hair better than the alesis lezlie. So GET A ROTOSPHERE or MOTION SOUND PRO3T, or KBR3D. You will NOT believe that your alesis qs'es could EVER sound this good!!! Happy tonewheeling, PW
