There is not much difference between the QS7 and 7.1. In fact, I was surprised in how little they improved it. I figured they'd improve some of the samples. Basically the only differences:
* Improved General MIDI bank
* Dedicated transpose and sequence buttons
Someone once told me that they made the output hotter but an Alesis rep later told me that wasn't the case. There could be some minor improvements to the operating system that fixes some flukey behavior (nothing significant) I sometimes get but I'm not sure of that.

: can someone help me here. i'm looking at a qs7 and a 7.1 for the same price, both used. the 7 comes with a ton of accessories which is nice. can someone tell me what the difference is?
: will i get better sounds on the 7.1? better organs, clavs, pianos, roads, synths? is the synth engine the same for both? is the fx engine? is it worth buying a 7 at this point in time?
: i've only played the 7.1 so i have no way to compare.
