I think the diagnostic is quite simple... you don't have audio outs plugged anywhere! In such a way you'll never be able to hear the QS sound, unless you use some headphones plugged into the synth.
So, use the headphones or plug the audio outputs located on the back of your QS to some speakers, audio card line in, or whatever.
Take this into consideration: Midi is hexadecimal data only, bytes running between your computer and the synth. It DOES NOT transmit sound. One thing is MIDI, another is AUDIO. And MIDI has nothing to deal with sound.
To listen the synth, plug the AUDIO cables.
